Addiction Medicine Fellowship

Overview

The ECU Addiction Medicine Fellowship offers comprehensive training for physicians seeking to become leaders in addiction medicine while serving a region with significant and evolving needs. Located at an academic medical center in a suburban community that provides care for a large surrounding rural population, our fellowship exposes trainees to a broad spectrum of addiction care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Fellows work with an inpatient addiction consult service, a multidisciplinary outpatient addiction clinic, an integrated perinatal addiction clinic, and a local opioid treatment program providing methadone services. Flexible elective experiences allow fellows to pursue specialized interests, while educational collaborations with UNC, MAHEC, and Wake Forest provide expanded academic opportunities through shared journal clubs and scholarly engagement. As a new fellowship, we offer the opportunity to help shape a growing program while receiving individualized mentorship in a supportive learning environment.
