Interests: I’m interested in doing a child and adolescent fellowship along with connecting my background in Narrative Medicine to psychotherapy training and resident education


Eddiel A. Cruz-Hernández, MD

Hobbies: Working out, spending time with my cat, playing video games, listening to podcasts, reading, and collecting sneakers.

Future Plans: Undecided, currently interested in forensic psychiatry.

Juliana L. Duncan, D.O.

Medical School: Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Hobbies: Hiking, gardening, rockhounding, crocheting, thrifting and antiquing, and hanging out with my husband and our cat

Interests: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. I’m also considering a forensics fellowship. Ultimately I plan to remain in North Carolina.

Advice:  Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, but you also have an obligation to be one- Eleanor Roosevelt.

Hobbies: Salsa dancing, reading, and singing

Interested in: exploring child and adolescent psychiatry as well as forensics. Eventually, I would like to teach and become more involved in telehealth. Above all, I want to continue bridging the gap between mental health and marginalized communities

Advice: Never let the fear of striking out – keep you from playing the game.
