Research

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine is proud to contribute to the research literature on a variety of topics, including clinical practice, pedagogy, health disparities, behavioral medicine, and telepsychiatry.

Our department is dedicated to evidence-based practice and strives to train the next generation of psychiatrists to become critical consumers of the research literature. We accomplish this through inclusion of research and critical appraisal experiences throughout all years of training. We also work with learners at all levels to develop skills in systematic inquiry, clinical care, and quality improvement. Just as in clinical work, research is a team effort. We provide a collaborative and nurturing environment to allow faculty and residents to pursue their passions. We welcome new collaborations both within and outside of ECU.
