Combined Internal Medicine-Psychiatry Residency

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our program. The Internal Medicine-Psychiatry Residency program at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine is a well-established program that has been providing high quality combined training since its inception in 1987. During this five-year residency program residents alternate between internal medicine rotations and psychiatry rotations, spending equal time in both, and between inpatient settings and outpatient settings. Our graduates have gone on to careers in academic medicine, medical subspecialties, inpatient psychiatry, consult liaison psychiatry, and many more. Be sure to check out our alumni page for the full list.  There are typically two residents in each class with a total of ten available spots. We invite you to look around on our website, follow us on social media, and reach out to us if you have additional questions.
