Started leadership role assisting Chair of Psychiatry in clinical oversight of psychiatric services at Vidant Medical Center. Focus is on service line maintenance and development on both inpatient, emergency department, and Consultation services. Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Vidant Medical Executive Committee: Member as Chief of Service. Responsibilities include oversight of providers in hospital via policy review, peer review, credentialing, liaison with hospital administration, and quality assurance.
- Chief of Service Committee: Meeting designed to allow chiefs to discuss service line interactions and process issues to allow for interdisciplinary care of patients. As chief of service, I present report to faculty as part of Quarterly Service meeting for Dept Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine.
- Quality Executive Committee: As chief of service I review, help coordinate, and contribute to policy and quality initiatives for all patient care in hospital especially regarding adverse events.
- Behavioral Health Executive Committee: Receives reports from operational subcommittees and quality to help shape the service line vision for the region
- Behavioral Health Leadership Committee: Focuses on Vidant Medical Center to address unit issues, quality metrics, staffing concerns, etc
- Chair Search Committee for Vidant/ECU Vice Chair of Clinical Integration: Oversaw search for Vice chair who would serve as director of regional psychiatry service line development in Eastern North Carolina for Vidant affiliated hospitals. Assumed directorship role of residency after associate directorship for 6 years. Duties included oversight and participation in recruitment, curriculum oversight with didactic teaching, rotation scheduling, administrative liaison with GME, direct supervision and training in psychiatry and internal medicine, assessment of competency standards through clinical competency committees in both departments, promotion of academic activity within resident body, and all duties previously done as associate training director. I provide direct supervision for professional development as well as preparation for graduation and certification exams. I also administered and oversaw the internal medicine/psychiatry 4th year medical student elective.

Oversight and management of TMS service to include maintenance of education, provision of consultation and care using TMS, and marketing/consultation/liaison to outside providers in Eastern North Carolina. I oversee the TMS resident elective.

I assumed oversight of ECT service coordinating care with the Anesthesiology Department to provide treatment for patients with refractory depression and psychosis. I am part of a three-physician team and I am responsible for maintenance of all ECT policies & procedures. I also directly address any grievances or issues within the program.
Director Local Management Entity psychiatric outreach program

In this role I serve as a primary LME physician providing both therapy and medication management to a nine-county catchment area for both the persistently mentally ill and the uninsured/indigent. Additionally, I supervise therapists in the LME program, a nurse providing onsite lab services and injections, and a nurse practitioner providing direct patient care in clinic. I am the CLIA designated supervisor for the clinic laboratory.
Associate Residency Training Director, Combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry program
